Working closely with the Content Creation Specialists, Public Relations, Learning & Engagement and programmes colleagues, the Writer and Editor ensures editorial consistency and readiness across content produced by multiple teams and regions. The role upholds the Foundation’s editorial standards and tone of voice, supporting a coherent organisational narrative and high quality communications that reflect the Foundation’s values and strategic priorities.
Responsibilities
- Editorial shaping and refinement: Actively edit, refine, and strengthen written content produced across the Foundation, across formats and products, to ensure clarity, coherence, and readability for external audiences. Improve structure, narrative flow, and accessibility while preserving factual accuracy, partner voice, contextual integrity, and accessibility for diverse external audiences.
- Editorial standards and voice stewardship: Apply and uphold the IKEA Foundation’s editorial standards, tone of voice, and messaging frameworks across all externally facing written content. Ensure written content reflects the Foundation’s values, strategic priorities, and commitment to culturally sensitive, context-grounded communication.
- Narrative coherence across contributors: Ensure consistency of language, framing, and narrative emphasis across content generated by multiple teams and regions. Identify and address inconsistencies, duplication, or gaps to maintain a coherent Foundation voice and position across channels and products.
- Editorial readiness and quality control: Determine when written content is editorially ready for external use, ensuring quality thresholds are met before publication or distribution. Provide clear editorial guidance to contributors to support timely revisions and strengthen overall writing quality and consistency.
- Cross-functional editorial coordination: Work closely with Content Creation Specialists, Public Relations, Programmes and Learning & Engagement colleagues to enable smooth editorial workflows from draft through final content. Support clear hand-offs and shared expectations across Communications, Programmes, and Learning teams.
