About us

The IKEA Foundation is dedicated to building a world where low emission economies create wellbeing for the many people and sustain planetary health.

Founded by Swedish entrepreneur Ingvar Kamprad, we are proud to share the values of the business he started – IKEA. Though we operate independently from IKEA, we hold a common vision: to create a better everyday life for the many people.

To pursue this vision, we support partners around the world, with a focus on emerging and developing economies. Our work is made possible by financial resources generated over decades of IKEA business success. To date, we have provided more than €3 billion in funding to our partners.

Togetherness is our core value and lies at the heart of our work. We recognise that solving the challenges of this century will require unprecedented levels of collaboration. No single organisation or group of people will be able to meet them alone.
